Ceramic tile is a practical, functional choice for your floor, walls or countertops that offers you a unique opportunity for self-expression because of its beauty, versatility and design potential. The extensive range of colours, textures, sizes and styles will allow you to reflect your personal style, and create a living space that is a true reflection of you.
| This tile composition, which Richard calls "Fire & Ice", began when the customer wanted something "non-geometric" but wasn't sure just what. He was told to "go ahead and make something", and was given only the colours to work with. This was fortunate, as the colours were warm, and immediately suggested flames. By attempting to reproduce the lively flames of (say) a campfire, Richard also saw that the white tile could as well represent icicles hanging from a roof.
Keeping both the roaring campfire and the hanging icicle themes in mind, he ended up with "Fire & Ice", and a satisfied customer (whew)!

I was commissioned to create this broken tile mosaic of a seascape sunset, in the impressionistic style. It was designed to look like a wall hanging, and as the picture indicates, was placed in the space behind the kitchen cooktop.
